Global Education Coalition – Education Apps and Resources to support distance learning

1st_story_0

Details

The Global Education Coalition is a multi-sector partnership hosted by UNESCO working to help parents, teachers, schools and school administrators to support student learning and social care during periods of school closure as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Coalition has drawn together a list of digital learning management systems and other resources most of which are free and to download in multiple languages. The resources do not carry UNESCO’s explicit endorsement, but they have a wide reach, a strong user-base and evidence of impact. The list includes:
1. Resources to provide psychosocial support
2. Digital learning management systems
3. Free Infographics to build information literacy, including
  • Graphics on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) tackling disinformation
  • Graphics to help Parents to teach essential aspects of thinking critically about information
  • Graphics to distinguish Facts from Opinion

In partnership with the Innovation for Policy Foundation (i4Policy), UNESCO has also launched an online ‘DontGoViral #ShareInformation Campaign’ to crowdsource local openly licensed content to inform communities across Africa (in local African languages) about how to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on the Continent.
