Since 2013, Iris Fondation Iris has partnered with the World Heritage Centre to enhance UNESCO projects aimed at the conservation of natural World Heritage sites. Fondation Iris is currently supporting the Rapid Response Facility (RRF), a programme jointly managed by the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and Fauna & Flora International aimed at protecting natural World Heritage sites in emergency situations (e.g. forest fires, sudden increase in poaching, armed conflicts, oil spill, etc…).
Fondation Iris is a private foundation under the aegis of Fondation de France. It was created in December 2012. Its aim is to promote conservation of the environment and to safeguard the fragile beauty of the world. The foundation supports actions to preserve or restore vulnerable sites, as well as actions to respond concretely to the loss of biodiversity in all kinds of environments. It promotes events and works by artists and photographers, who contribute to the enhancement of the sites or the public awareness on these themes. The foundation also supports agroecology in France and organizes or supports scientific expeditions around the world.
