UNESCO IITE launches an online platform Combat COVID-19: Keep learning. Together we are on the move!

By the end of March 2020 more than 160 countries have partially or completely closed schools and universities, which affected over 1.5 billion learners and 60.2 million teachers worldwide.* In the current circumstances, the education system faces an unprecedented challenge to organize quality distance learning for all in the shortest  possible time.

In this regard, UNESCO IITE has launched a new online platform Combat COVID-19: Keep learning. Partners for this Initiative include organizations represented in the IITE Governing Board, UNESCO Institutes and field offices, leading universities, major social networks, search engines and IT companies, as well as international non-profit organizations and associations working in the area of ICT in education.

The platform hosts various resources provided by the partners: educational courses, webinars, distance learning portals, communities and technical solutions that can be used to organize online learning. Among the resources, there are recommendations and guides for decision makers, schools and universities, as well as teachers and instructors on how to shift to distance learning and bring learners together for communication. The platform materials include examples of proven practical solutions for supporting education in the context of COVID-19 epidemic.
