Mr Marc Jacobs is a Professor in critical heritage studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Since 2008, he has been Director of the Flemish Interface for cultural heritage (FARO), an accredited organization specialized in intangible cultural heritage safeguarding. He participated as representative of Belgium in drafting the Intangible Heritage Convention, in many expert groups and in the first Intergovernmental Committee of the Convention (2006-2008).
