Vocational training in Mauritania - Analysis of the implementation of reforms.

This report on the obstacles to the operationalization of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) policy reforms in Mauritania is in two parts.

The first explains the socio-economic context of VTT and the initiatives that provide the different social strata with the skills necessary for successful professional integration.

The second part, structured around five priority axes considered as the basis of the TVET's renewed policy: public-private partnership (PPP), training management through economic demand, private sector involvement in the certification process, access and equity, and sustainable and sustainable financing, focuses on the obstacles that hinder the successful implementation of reforms.

Thanks to the collaboration of public and private actors in Mauritania as well as technical and financial partners, key issues related to the five axes of the vocational training sector have been identified in order to make the targeted reforms operational, meet the economy's skills needs and facilitate the integration of TVETgraduates.

This report concludes the end of the first phase of the process of operationalizing the reforms. All the actions selected to be carried out to remove the obstacles will constitute the contribution programme to the operationalisation of reforms (PROCOR), the implementation of which will be monitored and evaluated.
