PEFOP’s first phase (2015-2019) is financed by the Agence française de développement (AFD), to the tune of 6 million Euros.
Since PEFOP’s inception, in the context of its activities, the IIEP-Pôle de Dakar has established technical partnerships with several international organizations and development partners, including:

- The Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (LuxDev), to co-organize (also with IFEF) a multi-stakeholders regional workshop on public-private partnerships in the field of vocational training in Africa , in March 2018
The IIEP-Pôle de Dakar also develops close ties and regular exchanges with specialized vocational training networks in Africa, with a view to undertaking joint action:
- The Agricultural and Rural Training International Network (FAR)
- The African Network of Vocational Training Institutions and Funds (RAFPRO)
- ADEA’s Inter-Country Quality Node on Technical and Vocational Skills Development (ICQN-TVSD)
Since 2017, it has also explored the opportunity of developing partnerships with the International Labour Office (ILO)’s regional office, the Swiss Development and Cooperation Directorate (DDC), the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) and the Centre International d’Études Pédagogiques (CIEP), in particular to support the mutualization of vocational training resources, the promotion of good practices and the strengthening of vocational training players and mechanisms in Africa.
