Preventing discrimination against learners and educators living with HIV

The practical guide “Preventing discrimination against learners and educators living with HIV” is addressed to the principals and teachers of educational organizations. It provides information about HIV, routes of transmission, methods of prevention, testing and treatment, as well as the rights of people living with HIV.

It focuses on approaches to prevent bias and discrimination against people living with HIV, and describes universal precaution measures to avert the spread of blood-borne infections. The implementation of the proposed recommendations will ensure the right of students to education and labor rights of educators.

The practical guide was prepared by a team of authors, under the editorial supervision of prof. Evgeni Voronin, Head of the Scientific and Practical Center for the Prevention and Treatment of HIV Infection in Pregnant Women and Children of the Russian Ministry of Health with the support of UNESCO IITE.
