Les danses des garçons sont un type de danse populaire en Roumanie pratiquée dans la vie des communautés lors d’événements festifs comme les mariages et les jours fériés, ainsi que lors de performances sur scène. Chaque communauté possède sa propre version, chacune exprimant virtuosité et combinaisons harmonieuses de mouvements et de rythmes. Un rôle spécifique est attribué au chef de danse et au coordonnateur qui forme et intègre les membres du groupe tandis que le second chef est choisi pour ses qualités d’interprète et mène la danse. Les danseurs constituent des groupes de garçons et d’hommes âgés de 5 à 70 ans, qui peuvent inclure des danseurs roumains, hongrois ou roms. Cet aspect contribue au dialogue interculturel et offre l’occasion d’en savoir plus sur la diversité culturelle, en regardant par exemple des danseurs locaux se produire lors d’événements régionaux ou en admirant les styles chorégraphiques de différents groupes ethniques. Tous les membres des communautés sont les détenteurs et les praticiens de l’élément, et prendre part à la danse, comme danseur ou audience, renforce la cohésion et solidarité sociale. Les danses des garçons offrent aux jeunes hommes l’occasion d’affirmer leur statut social dans les communautés traditionnelles, notamment parmi les jeunes filles et leurs familles dans la perspective d’un mariage.

The lad who leads the row of the dancers performs a pont that is retaken by the others and so on till all the lads performed their favorite pont. In the past the dancers had swords in their hands
During the dance, they perform moves of virtuosity, especially: heel clicking, spectacular hopping, leaps that give a special color to the dance. The steps are going to the right, the patters being very small
