The second phase of GEQAF has been successfully launched in Botswana on Monday, 14th September with over 30 participants comprising senior managers and technical officers of the Ministry of Education. The five day workshop was officially opened by the Permanent Secretary who thanked IBE-UNESCO for the technical support provided to support the efforts of the ministry to transform the education sector in Botswana.
- Using the GEQAF model, the meeting reviewed the current systemic factors influencing (both facilitating and constraining) the quality of education and learning in the Botswana context. They also reviewed the strategic interventions within the Education Sector Plan (2015-2020) in relation to the GEQAF framework.
- Technical teams aligned to the priority areas of the Education strategic plan have embarked on developing concrete plans for operationalizing the priority interventions at the different levels and sub sectors of the education system (ECCE, Primary, Secondary, and post secondary level -TVET).
- The Ministry of Education technical teams developing strategies to translate the strategic objectives of the Education and Training Sector Strategic Plan (ETSSP) into concrete actions for ensuring quality education and learning practices at school and classroom levels.
