  • Financial assistance:
    • US$ 6,000 granted in 2008
  • Dates of implementation:
    • 19/12/2008 - 30/06/2010

Benefitting country(ies): Côte d'Ivoire

Overview:

A contract was signed between UNESCO and the Cote d’Ivoire National Commission for UNESCO, the organization designated for the project’s implementation. The Secretariat was obliged to cancel the contract and request reimbursement of the advance as no nomination file was submitted within the statutory time-limits. However, it is to be noted that Côté d’Ivoire subsequently submitted a nomination, The Gbofe of Afounkaha, the music of the transverse trumps of the Tagbana community, for possible inscription in 2013.

After looking at all the paper files, we have realized that the first payment was done in 2009 and even if we sent two letters (one in 2009 and another one on 2010) requesting for the reimbursement, the second payment was finally done in October 2010.
