The 21st European Regional IAAH Conference 2018 and III National Conference in Adolescent Health “Equal opportunities for healthy development for all adolescents”

The conference supported by UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE) will take place on 3-5 October 2018 in Chisinau, Moldova and will be devoted to the promotion of adolescent health and wellbeing, including by means of comprehensive sexuality education.

This conference is organised by the “Health for Youth” Association of the Republic of Moldova and The National Resource Center on Youth Friendly Health Services “Neovita” in cooperation with the International Association for Adolescent Health, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Republic of Moldova, State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemiţeanu” and EuTEACH group. The conference is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, WHO, UNESCO IITE and UNICEF.

The Conference will address the issues related to sexual and reproductive health of adolescents, accessibility of adolescent-friendly medical services and sexuality education; mental health and prevention of violence, self-harm and suicide; prevention and treatment of chronic illnesses; the influence of gender stereotypes, migration, and social media on the behavior and health of adolescents, as well as youth participation in health promotion.

In addition to plenary sessions and thematic sessions, pre-conference interactive skill-building workshops and debates will take place during the conference. The conference working languages are English, Russian and Romanian; translation will be provided.

Experts from Eastern, Central and Western Europe and Central Asia who work to improve the health and well-being of adolescents (health professionals of all disciplines, social workers, youth workers, teachers and pastoral staff from the education sector, youth justice workers, national and local government policymakers and NGO staff) are invited to participate in the conference.
