XIV UCCN Annual Conference postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak

XIV UCCN Annual Conference postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak

Facing the COVID-19 pandemic and its various effects, cities around the world are taking actions towards the safety and health of their inhabitants. Responding to the current pandemic is a shared objective for UNESCO and all its stakeholders, including the Creative Cities Network.

Given these unprecedented circumstances, a joint decision has been taken by UNESCO and Santos - the Host City of the XIV UCCN Annual Conference, to postpone the event to a later date, which was initially scheduled to take place from 13 to 17 July this year.

UNESCO along with the host city will continue to monitor closely this evolving situation and keep you informed about the new dates for the Annual Conference with due notice allowing you to prepare the necessary. Rest assured, UNESCO and Santos will maintain its ongoing cooperation to be prepared to welcome all the cities to the important annual event of the Network.

More than ever, this year’s UCCN Conference, themed ‘Creativity, Path to Equality’, will be the timely occasion to create new synergies and demonstrate how cities can leverage the power of culture and creativity to cope with the challenges we are collectively facing.
