Workshop on Media policies, radio and diversity

The workshop will hold discussions with duty bearers to review the impact of existing and/or proposed laws and regulations affecting broadcasters and advocate for the independent radio sector.

Objectives of the workshop are:
• To review the impact of any existing and/or proposed law and regulations at province levels that can impact broadcasters and to advocate the promotion of independent and inclusive media at local levels.
• To sensitize the duty bearers about the impact of existing policies and proposed media law upon the community radio sector
• To discuss all-around diversity in local radio broadcasting and the pre-conditions for achieving the desired levels of diversity in terms of content, people's participation, resource allocation (by radios and local level supporters)

Meantime, workshops will be held in the other six provincial headquarters of Nepal parallelly.
