Ministers of Culture of Mercosur discuss recommendations of UNESCO Global Report “Re-Shaping Cultural Policies”

 

The XLV meeting of Ministers of culture of Mercosur will be hosted by UNESCO on June 27, 2019 at Villa Ocampo, Argentina, in the presence of Ministers and State Secretaries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay.

Ministers and their delegations will discuss the different regional cultural policies prioritized in the 2019-2020 work program of MERCOSUR Cultural, with a strong focus on actions to promote the free circulation of artists and increase access to the market of cultural goods and services. 

In this context, the Ministers will discuss the strategic Alliances of MERCOSUR Cultural and their articulation with other integration spaces (Pacific Alliance, European Union) and international organizations (OEI, UNESCO). 

Director of UNESCO Montevideo Office, Lidia Brito, will introduce a special round table on Regional Integration Strategies for the creative sectors of MERCOSUR, focusing on the findings and recommendations of UNESCO’ 2018 Global Report “Re|Shaping Cultural Policies.”
