Highlights

• The 21st Session General Assembly of States Parties to the World Heritage Convention will be notably called upon to replace the outgoing members of the World Heritage Committee and will also determine the amount of the contributions of States Parties to the World Heritage Fund in accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of the World Heritage Convention.

• The round table on The Great Pompeii Project is to address the renewal of Pompeii, and revolve around the activities geared towards enhancing the effectiveness of the actions and interventions to protect the archaeological area of Pompeii by developing a special urgent programme of conservation, maintenance, and restoration. Ambassador Francesco Caruso, Counsellor to the President of Campania Region, Luigi Curatoli, Director-General of The Great Pompeii Project, Massimo Osanna, Director-General archaeological park of Pompeii, Francesco Bandarin, Assistant Director-General for Culture, Stefano De Caro, Director-General of ICCROM, Maurizio Di Stefano, Emeritus President ICOMOS Italy, Pietro Laureano, President ICOMOS Italy, Mounir Bouchenaki, Special Adviser to the Director-General of UNESCO and other international experts and Italian cultural authorities are to take part in the event.

  The event starts at 1:30 p.m. in Room VIII.

• UNES’GO invites you to celebrate the End of the 39th General Conference. The P.A.R.T.Y will take place on Tuesday 14th November at UNESCO HQ, in the Salle des Pas Perdus, at 07.00p.m..
