Create | 2030 (13IGC)

Create | 2030 is a series of talks hosted by UNESCO to discuss how investments in creativity can have a direct impact on achieving the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

During the 13th session of the Intergovernmental Committee, UNESCO will organize two Create | 2030 talks that will address key themes for the implementation of the 2005 Convention on the Promotion and Protection of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

•    “10 years of creativity: The long-term impact of IFCD Investments”

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD), former beneficiaries of the Fund will meet to discuss the long-term impact of the Fund on the implementation of the Convention. They will highlight how the IFCD's investments foster the means to create, produce, distribute and have access to a diversity of cultural expressions.

•    “Discovering diverse creative content in the digital environment”

How can we make informed choices in the digital environment, which is cluttered by the proliferation of cultural and creative content? This debate will highlight various challenges related to the difficulty of discovering and accessing a wide variety of cultural and creative content in the digital environment. It will address how online distribution platforms are revolutionising the entire value chain, from creation to consumption, and why access to a wide variety of cultural content is a prerequisite for the emergence of new sustainable business models for the cultural and creative industries.

Both debates will be moderated by Georges Papagiannis, Chief of Section of the Division of Public Information.
