Countries are not going to meet any of the global education commitments by 2030, shows the first official monitoring Report for the new global education goal, having devastating consequences for development. The 2016 Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report, UNESCO, shows that, on current trends, contrary to global commitments for 2030, universal primary education will be achieved in 2042; universal lower secondary completion in 2059; and universal upper secondary completion in 2084.
