UNESCO Italian Youth Forum to be held in Matera, Italy

The UNESCO Italian Youth Forum is hosting a series of workshops on Intercultural Dialogue, Education, Technology, Knowledge Disclosure, and Sustainable Development located at the Palazzo Viceconte in Matera, Italy.

The forum, organised by the Italy UNESCO Youth Association, is the first international initiative promoted by young Italian students and professionals focusing on UNESCO issues. The event, which will take place on February 23-25, 2018, is part of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Activities and Tourism’s actions for the European Year of Cultural Heritage. The Forum will be also held in the year of the 50th Anniversary of The Sassi and the Park of the Rupestrian Churches of Matera inscription in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Young volunteers and members of the Association, aged 18 to 35 years, will lead the three-day event during which they will share ideas, discuss, and plan new strategies for the enhancement, development, and awareness of the Italian cultural heritage. The forum will specifically focus on intercultural dialogue, education, innovation, knowledge disclosure, and sustainable development, connecting professionals and experts from national and international organizations.

There will be some activities open to the public, upon free registration, such as training workshops with a limited number of participants, where keynote speakers will address the main topics of the forum.

Those taking parts to workshops will meet and exchange views with the 300 members of the Association, including students, researchers, artists, professionals, managers, and entrepreneurs, who constantly work for the promotion of UNESCO values and projects within the Italian territory.

Participating in the UNESCO Italian Youth Forum is a precious opportunity to get in touch with one of the most active and dynamic associations in Italy.
