UNESCO's Report on Gender Equality 2018-2019

05/03/2020

Gender equality continues to be a challenge at the start of the 21st century. It is a fundamental right, a matter of justice. Gender equality constitutes a powerful lever for the development of dynamic and just societies.

Yet, this promise is still far from being fulfilled. Despite progress in many areas over recent years, the situation of women and girls around the world remains of great concern.

To achieve gender equality, we need to increase our efforts. This is why, UNESCO is releasing its first report on its action promoting gender equality entitled UNESCO and the promise of gender equality: key actions of 2018 and 2019.

Through this report, we wish to share with you the main initiatives that have been implemented over 2018 and 2019.
