2nd Memory of the World Global Policy Forum
27 and 28 October 2020 - UNESCO Headquarters, Rooms XI, VI, VII, VIII.
The Memory of the World Programme Secretariat is organizing its 2nd MoW Global Policy Forum on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management for Sustainable Preservation of Documentary Heritage on 27 and 28 October 2020 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France.
The forum is part of the MoW Secretariat’s strategic support to policy makers, memory institutions, and other stakeholders seeking to implement the UNESCO Recommendation concerning the preservation of, and access to, documentary heritage including in digital form. In this respect, it will also attempt to link national, regional and international efforts at safeguarding documentary heritage to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly in light of SDG 11, target 4 on strengthening “efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural … heritage” and SDG 16, target 10 on ensuring public access to information and protecting fundamental freedoms.

2ème Forum mondial sur les politiques

Le secrétariat du programme Mémoire du monde organise son 2e Forum mondial sur les politiques de réduction et de gestion des risques de catastrophe pour la préservation durable du patrimoine documentaire les 27 et 28 octobre 2020 au siège de l'UNESCO à Paris, en France.
Le Forum fait partie du soutien stratégique du Secrétariat MdM aux décideurs politiques, aux institutions de mémoire et aux autres parties prenantes qui cherchent à mettre en œuvre la Recommandation de l’UNESCO concernant la préservation et l’accessibilité du patrimoine documentaire, y compris sous forme numérique. À cet égard, il tentera également de relier les efforts nationaux, régionaux et internationaux de sauvegarde du patrimoine documentaire à l'Agenda 2030 pour le développement durable, en particulier à la lumière de l’ODD 11, Cible 4 sur le renforcement des « efforts de protection et de préservation du patrimoine culturel et naturel mondial » et de l’ODD 16, Cible 10 sur la garantie de l'accès du public à l'information et la protection des libertés fondamentales.
