Strengthening research capacity and partnerships for mutual learning: Implications of COVID-19 for educational research
This meeting of the Building Evidence in Education (BE2) working group, hosted online by UNESCO, aims to examine how COVID-19 impacts on educational research and to consider the implications of the crisis for strengthening research capacity, partnerships, and networks for mutual learning.
Questions:
1. How should ‘knowledge’, ‘evidence’, ‘research’ and ‘research capacity’ be understood?
2. Whose ‘capacity’ and ‘capacity’ for what purposes?
3. What should be the roles of development partners and national actors, including higher education institutions, research institutes and centres, companies, schools and civil society?
Speakers and participants will share experiences and promising examples of how to strengthen research capacity for inclusive and equitable quality education and learning, with particular reference to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on research priorities, understandings of evidence, as well as on research methods, partnerships and networks.
