Accessing accurate and complete information related to water can sometimes be a difficult task due to various factors, for example, lack of knowledge of the appropriate sources of consultation. For this reason, it is important to create spaces for the exchange of information provided by field experts and academics.
With the aim of promoting a virtual space for dialogue and reflection on issues related to water in the Valley of Mexico Basin previously defined and from the public interest. UNESCO recognizes that communication plays an important role in raising awareness of issues and problems related to water. UNESCO in Mexico, in collaboration with the Regional Center for Hydraulic Security (CERSHI), the UNESCO Chair in Hydrometeorological Risks, Universidad de las Américas Puebla, and the UNESCO IMTA Chair on Water from the Knowledge Society, organize the "First Seminar on Water and your City ”that contributes to the development of the SDGs related to water so that through culture and education it favors improving people's quality of life and creating a sustainable environment. With the perspective of positioning the seminar "water and your city" as a reference model for Latin America in addressing water-social issues at the basin level, through the participation of local actors.
