Report on the Follow-up Plan Meeting Held in Addis Ababa on June 7th and 8th 2017

The Japan-supported UNESCO-IICBA Teacher Training and Development for Peace Building project aims to contribute to the provision of economically productive and peace-loving young people through quality teacher training and development in Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, and Uganda.  

The year-long project was launched in March 2017 with a planning meeting held in April 20th and 21st in Nairobi, Kenya. On June 7th and 8th 2017, a two-day follow-up planning meeting was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The goal of the meeting was to:

·         Clarify the progress of the needs assessment and address any emerging issues

·         Provide input into the content for the training modules/guides and teachers’ kit

·         Discuss the plan for Training of Trainers and cascading strategy of in country training

The meeting identified countries, partners and IICBA’s work plans for the next step, including preparation for the Japan Study Tour, Training of Trainers and teachers’ toolkits. This report documented the meeting proceedings.
