Join the movement!

Do you represent a publisher, a non-governmental organisation, or a country that would like to be involved in this movement in support of women in African history?

Contact us: s.rubel@unesco.org

Together we can:

  • Establish new funding and communication partnerships for the production of educational content (particularly for the historical figures in blue on the home page)
  • Expand the project’s distribution network through social media, especially in Africa, so as to reach history professors and specialised institutions.
  • Identify publishers, particularly in Africa, who would like to release publications from the project. Of the forty selected historical figures, approximately 30 remain to be completed, particularly for those African countries that are not yet covered. To participate in this project is to respond to UNESCO’s two global priorities and bring to light a group of women who represent role models for today’s youth.
