On the occasion of the 43rd session of the World Heritage Committee, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the Africa World Heritage Fund will be holding a side-event: Third Cycle of Periodic Reporting Exercise, Collaborative Implementation in Africa Region.

During the event, there will be an overview of the implementation of Periodic Reporting in the Africa region. In addition, more light will be thrown on the Periodic Reporting collaborative work between the AWHF and the WHC, as well as on the fundamentals of the Exercise and the Implementation Plan that has been elaborated with several African World Heritage stakeholders in preparation of the inception of the Third Cycle of Periodic Repoting Exercise in Africa (2019-2020)
The side-event will also be an opportunity for participants to hear the coordinator at the World Heritage Centre and the Periodic Reporting Coordination Team on the preparation of the exercise.
The presentation will follow a session of discussion on this important statutory requirement of the World Heritage Convention.
