Historian and Cultural Researcher David Brown is the current Director: Policy & Research at Jamaica Creative, a Division of the Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sport. His field work supported a submission to UNESCO which facilitated the inscription of the Maroon Heritage of Moore Town to the Representative List in 2008. He also authored the dossier and successfully lobbied for the inscription of The Reggae Music of Jamaica to the Representative List in 2018. An Author and Adjunct Lecturer, he has a wealth of experience in conducting community based documentation and inventorying of intangible cultural heritage and Capacity Assessments.
