Ms Séverine Cachat

I have 20 years of experience, half in social science research on the processes of patrimonialization, particularly in the Indian Ocean area, half in the management of projects with an international dimension and cultural structures, mainly in the field of ICH.

Séverine Cachat directs the Maison des Cultures du Monde and its Festival de l’Imaginaire (since 2017) as well as its French Center for Intangible Cultural Heritage (since 2011): conception and realization of shows, exhibitions, symposiums, publications including the online journal Les Cahiers du CFPCI… Within this framework, she has implemented several workshops and training courses in the field of intangible heritage, in French Guiana, Reunion Island and France, or in Lesotho, and contributed to projects such as the Intangible Cultural Heritage & Museum Project (Creative Europe 2017-2020) of which it is a founding member, or the EuropAid program to support the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage in Algeria, for which she conducted a mission on the ICH (2014).

Since 2013, Séverine Cachat has been an expert for the National Committee of Ethnological and Intangible Heritage (French Ministry of Culture), and secretary of France PCI, the French association of ICH elements of UNESCO.
