Félix Cotellon is a lawyer. Originally from Guadeloupe, he is also known for the Gwoka Festival which he founded in 1988 and since 2005 as President of Repress, Regional Centre for Traditional and Popular Music and Dance of Guadeloupe (accredited NGO UNESCO in 2007). He was the leader and main facilitator of the “Lyannaj Committee for Gwoka”, which prepared the Gwoka candidature file and completed its inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2014.
