Historian by profession, Abdoul Aziz GUISSE, is Director of Cultural Heritage in Senegal since 2015. He was a member of the steering team in charge of the inscription of Kankurang (2006 -2008) and Xooy (2013) on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Coordinator of the Inventory of Traditional Music in Northern and Southern Senegal (2013-2015), he was also the national trainer and the supervisor of the project for the Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) in Senegal (2016-2019). Mr Guissé also participated in the ICH expert meetings on the Global Results Framework (China, 2017) and on ICH in emergency situations (Paris in 2019).
