Nikolai Vukov is Associate Professor at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies with the Ethnographic Museum in Sofia. He has a Ph.D. in folklore studies (Bulgarian Academy of Sciences) and a Ph.D. in history (Central European University – Budapest). His research, teaching, and publications are related to Traditional Epic Songs and Verbal Folklore; Memory and Commemorations; Monuments and Museums; Migrations and Cultural Heritage. Nikolai Vukov represented Bulgaria at UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for ICH (2014-2017). He has prepared needs assessments and facilitated training workshops on ICH safeguarding in several countries – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
