IRE: Reach and impact

The International Review of Education – Journal of Lifelong Learning (IRE) reaches more than 8,700 institutional subscribers in all regions of the world. The readership of the IRE is truly international. The largest proportion of readers (based on IP address) are based in Asia and the Pacific (30%), followed by Europe (28%), Africa (17%) and North America (18%). IRE has recorded an annual average of 74,000 article downloads per year over the period 2010–2014. The IRE is ranked in the highest category in Qualis (Brazil), the Norwegian Scientific Index (Norsk vitenskapsindeks), and the European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences (ERIH PLUS). The IRE is also included in Thomson Reuters’ Emerging Sources Citation Index. An application for admission to the Social Sciences Citation Index is pending.

Who are our readers?

A 2015 survey conducted by the IRE Editorial Office in cooperation with Springer indicated that the readership of IRE is almost equally divided between members of the research and policy communities. In 2015 IRE readers were based in 54 countries and were not concentrated in any particular country (the largest single representation was 14% from the United States of America)
