Launch of the Directory Chinese-Australian Writers to improve networking

Launch of the Directory Chinese-Australian Writers to improve networking

When:
Mon, 03/14/2016

Writers Victoria is pleased to launch a new directory of Chinese-Australian writers to assist literary organisations, programmers and publications and to increase the diversity of their programs and journals.

Developed by Writers Victoria as part of D-Writers China project, this resource was made possible by the support of the Melbourne City of Literature Office.

D-WRITERS (China) aims to respond to demand from a group that remain under-represented in mainstream literary education, organisations and publications in Australia.

The impact of this program includes:

  • Increased profile and publishing opportunities for Chinese-Australian writers in Victoria.
  • Discovery of a cohort of previously marginalised Australian voices and stories.
  • Development of new relationships and networks and facilitation of a greater sense inclusion within Writers Victoria and broader literary communities.

This resulted in further capacity development activity for individual writers and Melbourne's literary sector organisations.
