Education is a fundamental human right. Everyone has the right to education – children, youth and adults but this right is still not a reality for millions around the world. This is unacceptable, says Stefania Giannini, UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Education in this message.

For UNESCO, this right is an absolute priority and at the heart of its mission to ensure equal access to quality education.

Countries must fulfil their legal obligations to provide quality education to all their citizens.
