Resumen:

The needs assessment was implemented and funded by the Regional Bureau of UNESCO in Venice and was performed in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova. The study aimed to assess the legal and institutional frameworks for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in the Republic of Moldova; to outline the needs in terms of professional and institutional capacities for the safeguarding of ICH; and to develop a multi-year action plan for implementation of recommendations, including proposals for capacity-building in the country. The work included an exploration of the legislative and policy documents in the sphere of ICH in Moldova, analysis of the institutional policies and measures for the ICH safeguarding, and study of the awareness-raising activities, inventorying procedures, and educational programs related to ICH in the country.
