The ‘’Winnipeg Cultural Diversity Project’’ is a UNESCO Associated Schools Network initiative aimed at helping Grade 5 and 6 elementary school students from diverse cultural backgrounds understand that they have the right and the responsibility as local and global citizens to collaborate with students from other cultures to build a climate of peace and harmonious co-existence. Students learn more about their own identities and begin to deepen their understanding of and respect for other cultures, traditions and religious beliefs
