The fourth UNESCO Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE 4) will be published in 2019. A record 160 UNESCO Member States provided their insights on developments in adult learning and education. The information received will help to assess the current state of adult learning and education in the world.

The report will be published in autumn 2019 and will consist of two parts. The first will summarize Member States’ progress in implementing the Belém Framework for Action and the 2015 Recommendation on Adult Learning and Education. The second will review participation in adult learning and education, with a particular focus on inclusion and equity.

GRALE 4 will provide crucial insight into the importance of adult learning and education, notably for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and in particular Sustainable Development Goal 4.
