On the occasion of the Latin American and the Caribbean Week, which takes place from May 29 to June 2 2017, the Latin American and Caribbean Group (GRULAC), with the support of the World Heritage Centre, have organized a multimedia exhibition devoted to "World Heritage in Latin America and the Caribbean"

The main objective of the exhibition is to show the richness of the cultural and natural heritage of the Region manifested through the 138 properties inscribed on the World Heritage List.

From Pre-Hispanic archaeological sites and remarkably preserved historic centers to modern buildings, from extraordinary natural properties that contribute to global biodiversity to legacies that have marked the history of Humanity, the World Heritage of the Region serves as support and laboratory for sustainable development and regional cooperation.

The photographic exhibition will present the Latin American and the Caribbean properties inscribed on the World Heritage List according to the following themes:

    1. Conservation and biodiversity
    2. Ancient legacies
    3. Colonial testimonies
    4. Modern and industrial ensembles
    5. Mixed sites and cultural landscapes
    6. Beyond borders
