Within the framework of the Second Cycle of Periodic Reporting exercise, a Workshop for World Heritage National Focal Points from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe was hosted by the Georgian authorities, namely the Georgian National Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, the National Agency for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Georgia, in Tbilisi from 14 to 16 November 2012.

During the first day, the presentations were divided in two main parts, comprising the introduction to the Second Cycle of the Periodic Reporting Exercise, and presentations on specific key conservation and management issues by property category.

The second day of the workshop was dedicated to a discussion on the use of the Periodic Reporting exercise in support of the implementation of the “5C’s” Strategic Objectives adopted by the World Heritage Committee.

Taking into account that the National Focal Points were expected to organize workshops/seminars and act as trainers in further seminars and workshops with national authorities and site managers, the Advisory Bodies provided recommendations for training site managers in the context of their participation in the completion of Section II of the Periodic Reporting questionnaire.
