Between 2008 and 2018, the Swiss watch manufacturer Jaeger-LeCoultre supported the World Heritage Marine Programme through a series of activities. The partnership included a 6-year international campaign “Tides of Time” in collaboration with the International New York Times to raise public awareness of the conservation challenges posed to UNESCO’s World Heritage marine sites.

Annual watch auctions were organized to help improve protection at marine sites in need. Proceeds from the auctions were used to purchase boat and radar equipment for the patrol of fishing activity in Fernando de Noronha and Atol das Rocas Reserves in Brazil, Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park in the Philippines and wildlife monitoring cameras in Sundarbans National Park in India. The partnership further supported the state of conservation work of the World Heritage Marine Programme. High level events were organized in the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques in Paris, New York and Geneva involving British actor Clive Owen, French producer Jacques Perrin and award winning photographer Mark Kelley.
