Including Creative Industries into the Export Strategy
Ukraine has a great potential of the cultural and creative industries development. According to the “Creative economy outlook 2002-2015” by UNCTAD Ukraine was the second rated country with transition economy in the list of top10 creative goods exporters in 2015. According to the Global Creativity Index (Technology-Talent-Tolerance) by Martin Prosperity Institute in 2015 Ukraine took the 45th place. In 2014 the input of the cultural activities into the GDP was 4.04%.
Development of the creative industries is one of the priorities of the Ukrainian Government.
In close cooperation between the Ministry of Economy and Trade and the Ministry of Culture according to the Governmental Decree of late 2017 the creative industries were defined as the most future-oriented sectors of economy in the Export Strategy of Ukraine (Roadmap for the strategic development of trade).
It is expected that the measure will facilitate the innovations, modernization and creation of the high added value in the economy; promote the emerging of small and medium enterprises; job creation; attract domestic and foreign investments into, inter alia, creative industries.
