Webinar | 22nd October: Young Haitians express their views on the education they want for the future

On Thursday 22nd October, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm, UNESCO invites the Haitian community from everywhere as well as the friends of Haiti to attend a webinar on the following theme: What education for what youth ?

This webinar is the 7th session of the Future of Education and Training in Haiti Webinar Series: "Think together in order to act together to create the futures we want". Please find here below the list of confirmed speakers as well as the detailed agenda:

  • 10 am - 10:10 am: Welcoming remarks from UNESCO

  • 10:10 am - 10:15 am: Introduction and context provided by the host 

  • 10:15 am - 10:20 am: Durolin Eugenie Francois, National Laureate of the 9th Fundamental Year, of the official exams of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), Institut le Marien of Port-de Paix

  • 10:20 am - 10:25 am: Tcheninsky Laforest, secondary 2 student (NS2) at Côte-Plage junior high school, Representative of UNESCO's Associated Schools Network

  • 10:25 am - 10:30 am: Edgard Mathias, National Laureate of Secondary IV, of the official exams of the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP), Institut le Marien of Port-de Paix

  • 10:30 am - 10:35 am: Frantzie Wendell Monexile, Winner of the 2020 International Plume d'Or competition, Alliance Française des Cayes

  • 10:35 am - 10:45 am: Jean Evens Pierre, Social worker, Coordinator of the Haitian initiative for the promotion of sign language (Young people living with a disability)

  • 11 am - 11:15 am: Annie Thamar Boy, Representative of UNESCO's Youth Forum

  • 11:15 am - 11:20 am: Lionel St Felix, Member of the Council of the State University of Haiti (UEH)

  • 11:20 am -12:00 pm: Interactive debate between panelists and online participants
