Awareness raising and advocacy
UNESCO coordinates the commemorations of World Press Freedom Day (May 3), the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists (November 2) and the International Day for Universal Access to Information (September 28). Through global, regional, and national events, including awareness-raising campaigns and coalition building initiatives, UNESCO brings together all actors involved to address the most pressing challenges to press freedom and the issue of impunity.
