The third edition of Santos Film Festival will feature cross-cutting activities focused on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

When:
Tue, 08/28/2018 to Wed, 09/05/2018

Santos, a UNESCO Creative City of Film, will soon host its third Santos Film Festival (SFF), a major cultural event focusing on the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Under the theme What the world do we wish for?, this year’s SFF will aim to strengthen film as an educational means to enhance idea sharing and culture exchange.

Through a large range of activities such as workshops, concerts, debates and the traditional 24-hour Film Marathon, the spotlight will be on inclusion, tolerance and diversity, building on films that reflect the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The short film “Inspiring Cities”, a co-production by Santos (UNESCO Creative City of Film), Busan (UNESCO Creative City of Film) and Frutillar (UNESCO Creative City of Music), will be screened at the opening session. On the same occasion, the famous Brazilian movie critic, Rubens Ewald Filho, and the filmmaker Eliana Caffe will be honored, debating with audience on related issues.

With the full support of the Municipality and thanks to extended partnerships, the SFF will expect about 5000 participants in 13 different sites of Santos, and will be a unique opportunity of networking and sharing ideas, for both the general public and the professionals from the culture sector.
