Milena Dragićević Šešić is Head of the UNESCO Chair on Interculturalism, Art Management and Mediation and former President of the University of Arts, Belgrade. She is also a professor of cultural policy, cultural management, cultural studies, and media studies. She is an expert in participatory approaches for the design and development of local, regional and national cultural policies. Trainer and consultant in capacity building programs for strategic cultural management and entrepreneurship, Milena has developed more than 50 projects in cultural policy and management. She has experience in policy interventions in Southeast Europe (cultural policy reform in Montenegro, policies for culture in Romania, Serbia, Croatia, Bulgaria and former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia), the Caucasus, Central Asia, Arab States, India and Cambodia. She also has expertise in organizational development and capacity-building for local cultural administrations and managers in Europe, the Arab States and India. She works as an expert in cultural policy and management for the European Cultural Foundation, the Council of Europe, UNESCO, Pro Helvetia, and the British Council, among others.
