Nini Palavandishvili

Nationality: Georgia
UN Working Languages:
English, Russian
Nini Palavandishvili is a freelance researcher, curator and designer. After graduating from the Berlin University of the Arts at the Faculty of Public and Industrial Communication, Nini joined the Tbilisi artist initiative GeoAIR in 2006, where she was actively engaged in curating and organizing international exchange projects until 2018. Her research and curatorial projects focus on social and political contexts and their interpretation in the framework of cultural production and contemporary art. Her projects operate between public art, art activism and socio-cultural activities. She is very much interested to explore new forms of artistic practices and curatorial strategies, exploring how art reaches its audience and analyzing its significance for broader relations between art and society, collaborative models for artists and non-artists, the public realm and the audience. As part of the GeoAIR team, she has been constantly developing activities to be more research-based, inclusive and engaged in the specificities of a given environment.
