What is the timeline for approval of International assistance requests under the World Heritage Fund?
International assistance requests for Conservation & Management assistance or Preparatory assistance, for more than US$5,000:
- 31 October, year N: deadline for submission.
- January, year N+1: evaluation by a panel gathering the World Heritage Centre and the Advisory Bodies to the World Heritage Committee.
If the request is recommended for approval and is above US$30,000, the approval takes place in June/July, year N+1.
If the request is recommended for revision,
- 31 March, year N+1: deadline for submission of the revised version.
- April, year N+1: evaluation of the revised version by a panel gathering the World Heritage Centre and the Advisory Bodies to the World Heritage Committee.
If the request is recommended for approval and is above US$30,000, the approval takes place in June/July, year N+1.
International assistance requests for Emergency assistance, for more than US$5,000:
- no deadline for submission.
- evaluation by the World Heritage Centre and the Advisory Bodies to the World Heritage Committee through email consultation and transmission to the Chairperson of the World Heritage Committee within 10 working days.
International assistance requests (any category) for US$5,000 or less:
- no deadline for submission.
- evaluation by the World Heritage Centre only.
