Viet Nam workshop on youth policy development

UNFPA and UNESCO, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Viet Nam, will bring over 70 youth from various backgrounds representing all of Viet Nam together for a three-day training and one-day forum focused on youth policy development, data collection, and advocacy.

The event will provide the participants with the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the review of Viet Nam’s current youth law, as well as contribute valuable information to the country’s National Statistical Indicators on Youth Development. It will be held at the Dai Nam Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. 

Through its Operational Strategy on Youth (2014-2021), UNESCO promotes the inclusion of youth from all backgrounds in policy formulation (particularly youth policy), while also building their skills to effectively contribute to such actions and advocate for the issues that concern them.

With its Toolkit on Mainstreaming Gender Equality and Social Inclusion into Youth Policies, UNESCO has been actively working with young people and policy makers in the Greater Mekong Sub-region to develop youth policies that are not only inclusive and participatory of youth from all backgrounds, but also adequately address the needs of their target audiences.

The three-day training and one day forum in Ho Chi Minh City is the latest example of UNESCO’s work in this regard.
