SAPPORO YUKITERRACE 2015

SAPPORO YUKITERRACE 2015

When:
Mon, 02/02/2015 to Wed, 02/11/2015
Sapporo organizes the SAPPORO YUKITERRACE 2015, a Media Arts event on Akapla Square.

Opened in July 2014, the Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza “Akapla” offers the city’s center a new space for relaxation and festivity. This Akapla square was the stage to the SAPPORO YUKITERRACE 2015 conveying the region’s winter allure through a combination of snow and light.

A projection named “Frontier Star” including five beams of light against the snowy sky was set up. It alluded to the theme of the five-pointed star, symbol of the Hokkaido Development Commission. Furthermore an interactive snow attraction called “Snow Box” was organized, which made use of IT and the snow, which was enjoyed by more than 20,000 residents and tourists over a ten day period.
