Film Production Residency Project in Busan

Film Production Residency Project in Busan

Tue, 07/07/2020 to Mon, 11/30/2020

With the aim to build new synergies within the UNESCO Creative City film cluster, the city of Busan has launched its annual film production residency project.

Given the restrictions administered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s residency programme is only to creative cities from the Republic of Korea. In this context, Daegu, a UNESCO Creative City of Music, and Gwangju, a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts, have been selected as exchange cities for this year’s edition.

Two film directors from Gwangju, Heo Ji-eun and Lee Kyung-ho, will co-direct a film set in Busan. Reciprocally, Kim Ji-gon, a local film director based in Busan will capture ‘summer’ and the ‘story of music’ in Daegu, one of the most affected cities from COVID-19 in the Republic of Korea.

The films will be premiered online during the fourth Busan Intercity Film Festival.
