The sound logo “Sounds like Ghent” resonates throughout the city

The sound logo “Sounds like Ghent” resonates throughout the city

Ghent is the very first city in Belgium to create a city sound logo, called “Sounds like Ghent”. This sound logo sits next to the visual logo of the city and contributes to the promotion of Ghent as a UNESCO Creative City of Music.

The logo was developed by the Ghent-based music agency “Roundhouse” by simply listening to the sound(s) of the city, through workshops and by studying Ghent’s policy on city marketing. The logo music is, amongst others, available as a ring tone for mobile phone, as a door bell. It will also be played on the carillon of the Ghent Belfry – inscribed on the list of UNESCO World Heritage – and serves as the music on hold of Gentinfo, the municipal information service.

The sound logo is available in open data on www.soundslike.gent and everyone is invited to discover this unique initiative and share it by using the #soundslikegent.
